Ask the readers!

Author: Andrew /

Hey all you readers out there, Taken and not! This is a quick post to say that this next post is going to be based on a subject given to me by you guys, the readers! So, in a comment on the post, put as many cool ideas related to D&D that you can think of that you'd like to be touched on in later posts. If you have multiple ideas, that's fine, throw 'em all down there. I write them all down and all the good ones (which could feasibly be all of them) will get their time in the sun. SO, let the comments begin and we'll see if we can't just get some interesting discussion goin' on!

Thanks again for reading, you guys make this worth it!

~Andrew

Hmm... You could post about death and resurrection, and the end of a character's journey. Not all characters are meant to reach the highest of epic levels, you know.

Or make a post about role-playing vs power-gaming.

Noted, thanks Magus!

Ask, and ye shall receive...in no particular order:

1. Homebrewing, especially mechanical content like classes, races, feats, and powers. How to make a good new option without it being over- or under-powered, and when it would be best to just work with official stuff.

2. Gaming on a budget. Inexpensive or free options that can enhance the game.

3. A focused look at how to play your class (What should the fighter, for example, be doing in combat? You have two different powers you could use...which is better in a given situation?). This could be a series of posts, actually...

4. Talk about a encounter/adventure/gaming session that went really, really well for you and why you think it went so well.

5. If you have any experience with play-by-post, I'd be interested to hear it.

6. Problems with the 4E system, how they could be fixed/avoided in the short term, and...

7. Fifth Edition. It's going to happen eventually. What will (or should) it include, leave out, change, or keep the same?

Yeah, I'll second Magus' idea about death/resurrection. For some reason when I read that, I thought of the quote from The End of Evangelion: "The fate of destruction is also the joy of rebirth"...

Alrighty, guys. Got those down. =] Feel free to post more if more ideas pop into your heads.

I second the one about 4e problems. I mean, I'm not anti-4e, but I reckon that it has some flaws, some of them which can be fixed. However, I think that suck discussion can span over a lot of posts...

Sorry, typo there. I meant "such", not "suck".

Yeah, I think they can too. It'll take some looking over of the system to nail that one. Might be one for a later post. All in all, from what I've played and when I've run the game, I haven't found much wrong with it save a few things, which really aren't huge issues. I mean, over all, it's a very good system, especially after 3.5. That said, that'll be a post on it's own because there are some things I'd like to touch on. Got 'em all written down so far; good to know which ideas are more popular.
